Here comes the bride...

Okay, I'm not the bride. However, I was watching the Today Show segment this morning about the wedding they're throwing for a very special couple soon, and today was all about the dresses!

Anyway, it got me thinking about what kind of style I would wear (someday). I'm pretty picky, but I LOVE Alvina Valenta bridal dresses. I don't like the poofy kind of style, and I love the eggshell, creamy off whites over the harsh pure whites, along with small button detail along the entire back and train of the dress, so I think that may be why I'm drawn to these dresses instead.

Here's a few styles I love...enjoy!

And don't forget the cake!

Food Review

Hey fashionistas! Time for a fashion forward food review!

I have always been IN LOVE with ice cream, and luckily, I've always had a fast metabolism so there has been no impact on my body from it.

However, for anyone who is calorie conscious, I have found THE best (in my opinon) ice cream alternative: Hood Fat Free Frozen Yogurt. It comes in eight different flavors (listed on the site) and I have tried four of them (Maine Blueberries and Sweet Cream, Vanilla, Chocolate, Mocha Fudge). I'm pretty sure they used to have Coffee flavor before, but I guess not anymore.

This froyo is creamy and tasty and definately hits the spot, all for a mere 80, 90, or 100 calories (depending one which flavor you get) per serving, and NO FAT! Yum! Right now I'm trying the Main Blueberries and Sweet Cream and it REALLY hits the spot. It has a creamy taste with a subtle blueberry taste swirled in, and random scattered blueberries throughout. A perfect summer treat! Have you tried Hood's froyo? What do you think of it?

Obsession

I looove these boots from Aldo. They somewhat resemble this pair of boots Ms. Ashley Olsen is sporting in the photo. (My striped shirt from H&M I bought yesterday is practically identical to this one.)

What do you think?

Retail Therapy

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been busy planning out my trip to the Azores, Portugal, and Spain. My family is from the Azores so I'm going there to visit them, as well as find out more about my ancestors. And I'm going to Portugal and Spain for leisure :)
So yesterday I hit the mall for some seriously needed retail therapy. Let me just say this before I tell you about that...

My good, sweet friend Sean passed away this weekend in a car accident. He was one of the most genuine and honest people I've ever met in my life. Everytime I would see him he would ALWAYS give me a big hug and kiss and say "Hello sweetheart." He never failed to make me feel special. He has SO many people who love him and miss him already, and I just wanted to pay tribute to him and his life, because he touched so many people and he can never be replaced. Love you and miss you Sean.

Ok everyone, so yesterday was my mall adventure. I love going to the mall on Monday's, or any day during the week really. Especially DURING the day. Because the mall is quite empty, which I love. I hate crowded malls, which is why I am constantly online shopping instead!
My first stop was H&M where I got the most fabulous short tiered light peach colored dress. Also, a striped long sleeve tee with pocket (I loooove stripes), a pair of jeans, and a short gray skirt. After that I stopped at Forever21. I'm very hit or miss with that place, but I actually found a croc purple and black oversized clutch that was on sale and sooo cute, two pairs of sunglasses (wayfarers, tortoise and black), a cream colored tank, cream colored tee, and a white razorback tank, and a full skirt with black and cream colors intertwined throughout. I also stopped at Forever21's sister store, Heritage and bought a long black 3/4 length sleeve cardigan, and another pair of jeans. Pictures soon to follow, I promise!

After this, I decided I needed some pamper shopping. I headed to Bath and Body Works where I bought these AWESOME foot gel socks for intense feet moisturizing! I also purchased heel cream and a scrub, a mini pomegranite anti-bacterial gel bottle for my purse, mango mandarin foam burst body wash, a mini body splash in sea island cotton, and a mini aromatherapy body lotion in lavender vanilla.

Then it was off to CVS where I got Lumene's Arctic Touch deep cleansing peat mask for normal/oily skin, which I absolutely LOVE. Use this twice a week (I find that Sunday night and Thursday night work best to last you consistently) for smooth and soft skin. I love it! And for the price ($15) you can totally afford to stock up. I also bought Revlon's cream blush. I find that cream blush looks more natural.

Inspiration

Here is Thursday's fashion inspiration:

I love that red motorcycle puffy jacket along with the boots. I adore the bag strung across, it's a hot new trend that is coming back. The big sunglasses top everything off. Her outfit looks very put together and chic, but also comfortable and versatile for any daytime occasion!

Inspiration

Here's some fashion inspiration for you in the form of Gossip Girl's Blake Lively. I love this kind of look - short skirt, tank top tucked in, blazer, sandal heels, a clutch, and some long necklaces. It's a really hot trend for this season, and best part is, you don't need to be a celeb to do it!

What's hot right now!

Bonjour my Fashion Forward ladies! Here's the first of many WHAT'S HOT RIGHT NOW! posts!
These posts will consist of a few items, trends, etc that Fashionably Late finds oh so hot and in the moment, so here goes!

1. Boy's blazers!
I absolutely love, love, LOVE this look. (This one, right, from Brooks Brothers $198) Paired with an adorable short floral dress and some gladiator heels...HELLO summer chic!

2. Speaking of...
Those short floral dresses! (Left, Forever21, $24.80) There are SO many out right now, you have many options to choose from!

3. Black wedges
I am obsessed with finding a pair of black wedges (like this pair, VictoriaSecret.com, $58.99) that actually have the WEDGE black too! Paired with a pair of faded jeans, a slouchy tee and a nice big bag, you're good to go!

4. Motorcycle jackets
I love these jackets. They can turn a girly floral dress (like the one above) into an edgy outfit for a fun night out! (Left, Delias, $34.99)

Bat those lashes! A mascara review...

Recently I decided to update my makeup bag (and my eye look) and purchase Loreal's new Telescopic Clean Definition mascara in Blackest Black. I wanted a longer lash look and a change from my old mascara, without the clumps that most mascaras (although they claim they don't) give. Here's what Loreal has to say about the mascara:

"For clump-free, perfectly defined longer lashes. Loreal
introduces new Telescopic Clean definition mascara for lashes with telescopic
length, perfect definition, and a clump-free, natural end result. The patented
No Clump Brush cleanly defines and lengthens up to 60%."

Here's what I have to say:

This mascara definately provided definition, but not in the way I would have liked it. Some of my lashes were in fact clumped together, giving the look of some big fat defined lashes, rather than many defined lashes. I used an eyelash brush to help separate them, which seemed to work and make them look natural. The length was exceptional - I don't think I have ever achieved a length like that with any other mascara I have used in the past. And once I used the mascara brush to separate the lashes, I didn't look overly madeup and my eyelashes looked naturally long - no need for eyeliner or shadows.

Overall, I give the mascara an 8 out of 10. Minus one for the clumping, and minus another one for the fact that if you want a more dramatic look for a party, you're going to definately need a volumizing mascara along with this.
